I am an oncology focused post-doctoral scholar at Stanford Medicine. My formal training began in my undergraduate studies at Oregon State where I received my B.S. in Biochemistry and Biophysics, with minors in Chemistry and Toxicology. Dr. Staci Simonich supervised my undergraduate research detecting pesticides in remote alpine regions in various media such as air, fish, and moose. I remained at Oregon State for my PhD work, mentored by Dr. Siva Kolluri in Mechanistic Toxicology. My graduate studies included structural characterization of the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR), and design of small molecule screens to identify and characterize agonists that activate tumor suppressive functions of the AhR. I formally linked AhR ligand-activated tumor suppressive biology with activation of the TGF-β pathway. Dr. Dean Felsher supervises my post-doctoral studies at Stanford Medicine, where we study mechanisms of oncogene addiction using transgenic mouse models, and I investigate potential therapies for MYC-driven Lymphomas. I have a proven history of funding for novel and independent research strategies.
