I earned my PhD in Politics at New York University in 2001) and am currently professor and chair of Law, Politics, and Society at Drake University. My second book, Pregnant with the Stars: Watching and Wanting the Celebrity Baby Bump, on our obsession with celebrity pregnancy, was recently published by Stanford University Press. I am currently working on a project mapping the regulation of homebirth midwifery, funded by the National Science Foundation. Committed to undergraduate legal studies education, I teach a wide range of courses, and serve as president of the Consortium of Undergraduate Law and Justice Programs.
